Avani was inspired by the Chinese Unicorn who is quite elemental and very beautiful. If you look up a picture they look as though they are made of wood and so when I saw that element was the theme of the contest I thought, why not make a unicorn that is earthy. So, I made Avani. She is a tad bit different than the Chinese Unicorn, but every bit of this picture is symbolic of something.

The reason half the picture is dessert like and half is green will be explained here. If you notice, only the areas Avani is in or has touched are green, so basically, she is the the bringer of the Spring, so to speak. :) I thought that added to her element. :)

Nice shading and lighting here. Most people don't know how to effectively color white, but you've got it down to an art.
